Centre de recherche en géomatique of Université Laval
CRG is one of the largest geomatics research centres in the world and is recognized for its innovation in R&D and leadership in geospatial sciences and technologies.
Located at Université Laval, one of Canada’s top ten universities, CRG provides students a welcoming, flexible and stimulating environment on a campus offering a wide variety of academic, athletic and social activities.
Based at Université Laval’s Department of Geomatics sciences, CRG brings together researchers mostly from geomatics department and also from computer sciences and urban planning departments. The group activities are mainly focused on original and innovative fundamental research as well as applied aspects of geomatics sciences.
Unlike other research teams who are exclusively focused on applied geomatics, CRG is dedicated to the geospatial sciences as a whole, contributing to both fundamental research and development of new geospatial methods, techniques and tools.
CRG’s position at the intersection of science and engineering, IT and the human and social sciences fosters innovation and helps make geomatics an especially vital field in the 21st century knowledge society.
