SODIM

The Société de développement de l'industrie maricole (SODIM) is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to creating and developing the creation and the development of profitable and competitive mariculture company.

To achieve this mission, it has these following missions :

1) Encourage the development of a viable mariculture industry on the territory of the corportation, either in Gaspécie, to the Îles-de-la-Madeleine, to the Bas-Saint-Laurent and in the Côte-Nord, specially to :
a) Offer a financial support to the implementation projects of diversifiction and expansion of mariculture companies,
b) Offer technical support and advices to mariculture companies,
c) Encourage the research/development and the technology transfer concerning the aquaculture.

2) Encourage the development of this industry with respect of the environment and the laws.

3) Participate actively to the regional development.
